Bullied in Vancouver! (By Toronto Maple Leafs Fans) What's a Canuck to do?

I have feelings too you know,  Maybe not about other people (I was raised in Vancouver, I have to be at least PART sociopath, right?) but when you tease me about hockey......man, that's crossing a line. (Does it cross the: Sue Canada for 10.5 Million in Bumhurt damages line? If a terrorist can do it, why can't I?) No one seems to enjoy line crossing these days more than Toronto Maple Leafs fans, especially when talking to (Laughing, taunting etc.) observers of the Vancouver Canucks (see what I did there?) They like it when AUSTON MATHEWS receives a pass at the opposition blue line, or when AUSTON MATHEWS shot crosses the goal line, they like lines on scrap paper because it gives them somewhere to write AUSTON MATHEWS name, And most of all the like the "Comments" line on message boards, they LOVE that line, that's where they get to remind Canucks "associates" how their team had rebuilt the right way, while our team hired a talking monkey. O...

Brock Boesser to follow in Linden's footsteps by moving to center? It's Deja Vu all over again!

Do the Vancouver Canucks already have their future #1 center? Assuming Horvat realistically slots in at #2, is the answer to who plays #1 right under our noses? Quick quiz for all my 'couveies!  So, stop negotiating the sale of your lower mainland property to a giant Chinese conglomerate for just a moment, and see if you can't answer this question about your city (Before you sell-out of it lock stock and barrel) In Vancouver B.C, what do Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, A non-impeachable Premier, And a true #1 Center all have in common? Answer: Who cares! Go finish Seling your property!  Not your problem anymore! The next generation? Mehh...forget em' we're talking about MONEY here, money for YOU, and in Vancouver B.C, it's every man for himself, at least that's what the baby boomers who sacrificed their children's future, for a motorhome, leaky condo in Victoria and bi-yearly trips to where ever the flight are cheap (Even though you've got plenty, ...

The NHL and "NU-THINK" branding....THOU SHALT NOT TANK!

Ahh, summer! It's not all bad for the hockey fan..the sun is shining, the sky is blue the Parrots are chirping.........wha?.... Yes Parrots, y'know, the ones who pick up on whatever issue the media feeds them along with one of two sanctioned opinions? Then they act out the same argument they saw on TV in bars and beaches the world over. Take "Tanking" for instance, Listening to Vancouver Canuck fans it would almost seem as if they think they are having a totally fresh and original conversation and not reading off the script assigned to them by whatever sports talk show they heard it first on. The arguments become so emotional one occasionally feels like tapping one of the combatants on the shoulder and reminding them: This is the entertainment biz.....period, If some are more entertained by watching the intricacies, intrigue and "what goes down must come up" realities of building a team who might conceivably win a championship, who are you to tell...

Canucks in the hands of morons?

The #1 most crucial step in a rebuild is removing the cornerstone players of the old core. While they are still in place team culture, attitude and identity remain the same getting progressively more stale by the year until it becomes bull blown rot. The old leaders most be moved out so the young guys coming up can grab those leadership spots and re-make the team in their own image. Look at Calgary, they stubbornly refused to move out Iginla, who is as important to them as Trevor is to us, the moment they surrendered and moved him things started to go right for that team, new leaders popped up out of nowhere and the team became exciting vibrant and fun to follow. This year or last should have been the season the Sedins moved on to Washington or Montreal or even FLA or NAS to go get their cup. and the year Horvat and other top picks made this team their own,  Burrows and Hanson could remain to make sure the kids stay on track. But.....  there is a big ...

Who is going to save the Vancouver Canucks? YOU ARE!

“Resolution, like responsibility, is a product of ownership, and kids can't resolve a conflict until they figure out how they contributed to it.”  ―  Richard Eyre ,  The Entitlement Trap: How to Rescue Your Child with a New Family System of Choosing, Earning, and Ownership We are to blame for it all. That's right, Louis Eriksson's goal drought, Jake Virtanen's rushed development, the lack of goal scoring even, it is all our fault. The "We"I refer to is anyone who has put a dollar into the pocket of the Vancouver Canucks and more specifically, The Aqualinni family over the past three years. And what a three years it has been! The inter-fan squabbling over "Re-build re-tool" philosophies filled many a message board with lively debate and a good time for all, but the fun is over , the debate ceased and as the smoke clears one and all realize what a few were saying all along: This ship is going down! Only now in November of 2016 we awake ...
