I've got two words for Erik Karlsson.....

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!  Well....maybe not actually, let me re-phrase that: "I hope everyone is having the type of Holliday that they are WORTH no more, no less".....Whoa! on second thought: "I love the holidays, the holidays are home, I love them, I always want it to be the holidays, I want everyone to know that I'm 100% committed to HAVING A HAPPY HOLIDAY" Can someone get me a hemorrhoid cushion for Christmas? The old' cheeks are a little sore from talking out both sides of my a$$? So, where were we.....Ah! Yes!..... It's that time o' year again! for sloppy, drunken, eggnog fumed "too much tongue" misseltoe mishaps, for piles of dollar-store, discount bin, "Oh crap! it's 4pm on Christmas Eve, I better get gifts in case some a$$hole gets me one" presents, legions of sugar-buzzed children weeping over not getting the crap they wanted, drunken parents deciding that the big family din

The Vancouver Canucks dirty little secret.....

Bad press, It's followed the Benning regime, like a fish-fart vapour trail from day one, around two years ago they decided to do somethng about it. Read though any popular message board where the Canucks are disscussed, it's right there in black and white. Obstinate, Pro-Benning poster's who will argue till the Canuck's cup parade (That's a long time) that the Canucks G.M is a genuis, an expert at the draft table (hehheh...hehehehahaaha!) that Joulevi was the right pick, that the Gudbranson deal wasn't a "Let's find out if he's REALLY that dumb" practical joke expertly played by Dale Tallon, ect. ect. blah blah...GO! Take a look!   Yes, trawling though this trash is exceptionally anoying, but don't blame "THE THREAD" the dissonance in discourse is due to specific posters I think most people  are intelligent, and don't have their ego tied up in being "Right" I think most people are fine with changing thier mi

Vancouver Canucks: Alex Edler has to GO!

Alex Edler.....just let that sink in, If this guy wasn't born to be a Canuck, then Vancouver's cost of living is do-able. At times, the guy has looked like he's had it all: The shot, pin-point passing, size, hits, PP point production, we've seen it all from Edler, his recent years have shown him to be in decline, but even at his best, there was something....off about the guy... Not off, as in, he seems like a bad person, I don't know him but certainly, don't believe him to be anything of the sort.  By "Off" I mean, as in: "This guy is fantasic.....but, I'm not 100% convinced he CARES" Edler as far as pro athletes are concerned has a bit of an issue, it wasn't so bad when he was doing extraordinary things, but now in the twilight of his career, it's become a real problem for the team. The problem is this: Edler is lazy, he's always been lazy (I once had to hold the door for him in Blaine because he was talkin

Bullied in Vancouver! (By Toronto Maple Leafs Fans) What's a Canuck to do?

I have feelings too you know,  Maybe not about other people (I was raised in Vancouver, I have to be at least PART sociopath, right?) but when you tease me about hockey......man, that's crossing a line. (Does it cross the: Sue Canada for 10.5 Million in Bumhurt damages line? If a terrorist can do it, why can't I?) No one seems to enjoy line crossing these days more than Toronto Maple Leafs fans, especially when talking to (Laughing, taunting etc.) observers of the Vancouver Canucks (see what I did there?) They like it when AUSTON MATHEWS receives a pass at the opposition blue line, or when AUSTON MATHEWS shot crosses the goal line, they like lines on scrap paper because it gives them somewhere to write AUSTON MATHEWS name, And most of all the like the "Comments" line on message boards, they LOVE that line, that's where they get to remind Canucks "associates" how their team had rebuilt the right way, while our team hired a talking monkey. One

Brock Boesser to follow in Linden's footsteps by moving to center? It's Deja Vu all over again!

Do the Vancouver Canucks already have their future #1 center? Assuming Horvat realistically slots in at #2, is the answer to who plays #1 right under our noses? Quick quiz for all my 'couveies!  So, stop negotiating the sale of your lower mainland property to a giant Chinese conglomerate for just a moment, and see if you can't answer this question about your city (Before you sell-out of it lock stock and barrel) In Vancouver B.C, what do Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, A non-impeachable Premier, And a true #1 Center all have in common? Answer: Who cares! Go finish Seling your property!  Not your problem anymore! The next generation? Mehh...forget em' we're talking about MONEY here, money for YOU, and in Vancouver B.C, it's every man for himself, at least that's what the baby boomers who sacrificed their children's future, for a motorhome, leaky condo in Victoria and bi-yearly trips to where ever the flight are cheap (Even though you've got plenty,

So, The Toronto Maple Leafs want to trade for Eric Gudbranson? Well, Leafs fans...there's something you should know...

So, the rumor is circulating that the Toronto Maple Leafs are looking for a penalty-killing de fenseman and are in talks to acquire Eric Gudbranson from the Vancouver Canucks... COOL! No problems here! But Lea fs fans, listen up, gather around the fire and let me bend your ear with a tale of woe and horror, let me spin the terrifying fable of: Dim Jim and the Jolly "Non-puck handling" Giant By Donal "terrible D" Finn Harken ye douche tools of T.O! For the story starts now.... Eric Gudbranson...that big hunka hunka nasty, your girlfriend probably loves him (And may should he be traded to your town) Could he be the defenseman you covet? Still remembering his macho death threat issued against your own Matt Martin? A few more of those might be worth your girlfriend? Right? We all need to make sacrifices if we're going to win a cup after all... Besides I like death threats, so do you, I think we can both agree the NHL could use MORE death threats. Well,

Dear Tonya Harding: The Vancouver Canucks need your help!

Dear Tonya I hope all has been well for you since you have treated so rudely the 1994 Olympics. That wasn't such a great year for us either, and I don't see much difference between you having Nancy Kerrigan knee-capped and Mark Messier skating across the ice at the final whistle in game 6 of the Cup final to sneak attack and breakTrevor Linden's ribs. That Messier guy has a leadership award named after him now, seriously! But you STILL get no respect, well us Pacific North Westerners need to stick together so today I write to you on behalf of the city of Vancouver and implore you to come home! Come home and save us from our selves! No, it isn't the real estate thing we're worried about, although should you feel the desire to break the knees of any multi-generational residents (If you can call living in a fridge box under the Georgia st. viaduct being a resident, HAHAHA! I knew you'd like that one) The transplanting and displacement of the cities population i

Mark Messier is a fraud, the real leader was Trevor Linden. The truth behind the lies.

So, The Mark Messier Leadership Award? What a complete farce and egregious example of NHL revisionist history, where should I even start? Let's start with dispelling the myth that Messier was some tough guy power forward, he wasn't. There is a reason he is never mentioned in discussions about players like Lindros or Stevens He was nothing like Lindros. Lindros was a force of nature who could run people over, Messier snuck up from behind and chopped their ankles or ribs, he was the beneficiary of being put in the middle of incredible talent and he picked up the garbage. He was nothing like Stevens who was a skilled master of lethal body checking, Messier didn't have the skill or the balls to line guys up. He wasn't a hitter, again, he would chop you from behind. "Ok" you say "I get that he was dirty" but didn't he stand up for himself and his teammates?" No, he didn't, he never fought for his teammates, he fought when he had a

NHL "Zombie" league- Who killed hockey? And the rise of the superstar coach.

I am sooo sick of hearing you all talk about how inconsistent ref calls are holding the NHL back Like so many hockey fans you are just parroting what you hear in the media, the rule enforcement is a complete non-issue, when I became a hockey fan I learned about how the game was called and was like "Fine, I get it" People want an ENTERTAINING PRODUCT, why in the hell would they care if rules are called differently than other sports? What do you think? Some new potential fan is enjoying a hockey game for the first time, sees something not called in game 7 OT and says "Well, that does it....I just can't enjoy this game anymore, they aren't calling this like it's PRE SEASON" That NEVER HAPPENS, the only people who care about this are the media who invented the issue so they would have something to talk about and fans who are too dumb to think for themselves. NHL marketing is a well-known joke, sure, but the number one issue that has killed the NHL for th

The NHL and it's conspiracy against Sam Gagner

As much as I can't stand Benning and do not believe he is intelligent enough to GM an NHL team and am appalled by his 90's buy-a-team approach which has been proven over and over not to work..........I don't mind this signing (But we still need to do Tanev for Reinhart) Gagner has always confused me, he's had soooo many people dump on him through out his career and I don't understand why (I think it started with the Oilers using him as a scapegoat for their failures but I don't understand why it has continued) The guy always puts up some points, I believe is a good skater (unless I'm mistaken) and though he's no tough guy, he will drop the gloves to protect his teammates (usually once or twice a year) and , he's well thought of and a good guy off the ice, plays the game hard and honest, gives you 100% of what he has..... .....Did I just describe Trevor Linden or what? Is it just the stink of the Oilers early career slander that clin

Makar = Virtanen 2.0 Thank god The Canucks didn't draft him (Joe Sakic seals his doom)

The 2017 entry draft is over and the Canucks dodged a major bullet (Joe Sakic wasn't so lucky) These were my thoughts prior to the draft. Or, consider this an open letter to Jim Benning.... So.....you wanna draft Makar?  The beer league all-star? The rec-center sniper? Why? so he can start a pick-up game here and skate circles around the Jabroni's he's playing against? Have you learned nothing from the Virtanen debacle? Competition is EVERYTHING, and just like Jake didn't need any real hockey sense to bully his way north/south and score against kids, Makar's game is totally based on his playing against people who can't deal with his skating. When Jake faced off against MEN his game fell apart as everyone who two brain cells to rub together predicted it would, and so with 5th overall we ended up with 9g in THE AHL, and a guy who is faced with the mamoth task of re-build his whole game from the ground up, and this is a guy not known for his wo

The Vancouver Canucks and P.R propaganda, it's time fans knew what "Astroturfing" means

Have you noticed you are going crazy? That an increasing number of fans seem to be trying to convince you that a black wall is painted white and vice versa? That a lot of fans these days seem to be arguing AGAINST their own best interests? Well, never fear, though you may well be crazy, it has nothing to do with how you are seeing the team and those fans arguing against their own interests?........shhh......they aren't fans, those are P.R groups hired to "Astroturf" and promote the company line while posing as fans, more on that later. I recently read a fan comment about how hard it was to do anything significant in Vancouver where people have so many other options for entertainment (obviously they haven't realized they are living in No-fun city yet, or perhaps it's an Indian call center that doesn't live here at all.Z) Nonus couldn't have said it better himself That's the difference between the Benning/Nonus's and the Burk
