That would be a BAD trade for the Canucks

Wingers are NOT what ANY team, still in the highly fetishized "REBUILD....M***R F***KER!" phase, should be concerned with acquiring,

Here's a trade secret, known only by GM's, who constantly try and get people looking in the other direction as they attempt to stuff them in their coats and run out the door:


You build a team around centers.

Yes, we've all heard that "From the net out" B.S and maybe for a while in the 90's it was legit, but to quote Alexander Mogilny in that same decade: "If you can't get us a center then trade me for one, everyone knows it all starts at center ice" 

Look at what happened to the Canucks this year, Horvat is overshadowed by Bosser's amazing debut, but Horvat goes down and what happens?

THEY  LOSE


That's because a winger no matter how good, just doesn't equal a center in terms of how important they are to a team, all plays move THROUGH center ice, if your center sucks, so does your team.

Brock can score a lot of goals, but he can't get the team to win, Horvat CAN,

That has everything to do with the center ice position being the most influential position in hockey, look at the Ovie vs. Crosby story, not that there is one anymore


Crosby left Ovie in the dust years ago, and Ovie is STILL scoring a ton of goals, but he can't get his team to within sniffing distance of a cup

That's because, he is a winger, and a winger is icing on the cake

A team needs to get it's center position sorted first, then it's defense, THEN it can prioritize wingers

And finally, good F.A goaltenders are available every summer, the era of the "superstar goalie" is over (Sorry Montreal, get out of the 90's)


SO don't be fooled by all the "Puck Moving this" and "Puck moving that" talk, there is ONE position in hockey that demands attention before any other.

To this end, I would even TRADE Boesser for Clayton Keller, or Barazal, the stats are the stats, but I guarantee when it's all said and done, what THEY do will be more important than what Brock does.

With the Boss RC 202 Looper, there is both good news and bad news Bad news first? Ok...
