NHL NEWS:Jaramir Jagr retires? GOOD! Ever hear the story about Tochett punching Jagr out at practice?

So, Jaromir Jagr is finally calling it a day huh?

The great elder statesman of hockey finally feels he has nothing more to give to his beloved fans and adoring next generation of players?

Oh BS!

His gambling debts are finally paid off!

Jarg was a selfish "me first" guy who sold his teams and people who made big financial investments in him down the river.

He almost broke the Washington Capitals by accepting a gargantuan annual salary from them, then deciding that because it was guaranteed, why should he have to earn it? He already earned it with the Penguins!

What?!! Were they expecting him to earn it twice?

It's this shockingly sociopathic thinking that the league has tried to make us forget once it figured out he was going to hold some permanent records and was therefore un-erasable.

"Look! Look at the mullet!" The NHL has screamed over the past several years, wanting so badly for long-time NHL followers to forget the twisted thought processes that the quintessential "Hockey doo" seemed it was grown to cover.

But lift those greasy locks, and you'll not find the grey matter of a hero, not even close.

Speaking of hero's guess who Jagr's was? Who he had a picture of inside his high school math book?

Ronald Regan.

The US president who presided over an era so selfish it's been titled the "Me-Generation" this is the era which inspired the classic book "American Psycho" give that book a read and it will give you some insight into the type of person Jagr models himself after.

This "celebration" of his career is laughable, this is a guy who, while their captain, walked out on the Penguins in the middle of a playoff game because he "felt like it"

The only reason he played as long as he did were some rather shadowy debts he is rumored to have owed. Anyone else find it odd when he jumped ship to play for Russian Oil gangsters in the KHL for three years?

Upon his return, the league (who had happily not mentioned him once during his absence) started calling Jagr "A free spirit" in an attempt to cover his tracks and their own a$$es.

But those of us who remember, know who were dealing with. And that everything you need to know about Jagr the man can be summed up by an incident that took place in practice right after he had signed his first big contract with the Penguins (Incidentally, once he started getting paid, marked the end of Jagr's cup contention's, once the money was in his pocket he would never again come close to a Stanley Cup)

One day in the early 90's, at a Penguins practice, Jagr was feeling pretty good about himself, the beneficiary of a fat new contract he sought to celebrate it the only way he knew how.

By making fun of and taunting players who were making less money than him.

Not used to this kind of behavior from a star, the third and fourth liners weren't sure what to make of these taunts, but veteran winger Rick Tochett, who had seen enough of Jagr at that point, did. This wasn't friendly ribbing, this Eastern Block import actually thinks he's better than these other guys AS HUMAN BEINGS because he makes more money.

Tochett skated over and warned Jagr to shut up.

Jagr probably did the math in his head (while thinking of Regan) and realized he made more than even Tochett did, so the taunting began again...

"I mean it, man, knock it off," said Tochett as he skated by again.

But Jagr had already estimated their respective net worths and decided he was the superior being, the taunts continued...

....The at some point Jaromir Jagr found himself regaining consciousness, flat on his back, no teammates were skating over to help him up, not one of them. Rick Tochett stood close by, gloves off. Hre motioned to Jagr that if Jaromir wanted to do anything about the fact that Rick had just knocked his selfish a$$ out, he was welcome to try his luck.

Jaromir didn't run the numbers on that one, he knew his bank account wouldn't save him from the beating he would take if he stood up.

Thus concluded THE ONLY NHL FIGHT OF JAGR'S CAREER.

Not surprising when you think about it, he had others fight his battles for him and would never care enough to defend someone else.

Obviously, I have to give the devil his due. This guy had talent but his relationship to the NHL was parasitic, revealed by his not feeling he should have to play in All-star games and a career of low character behavior.

The NHL made a commitment to rehabbing his image once they realized they would never be rid of him via the record book, so if you're convinced he was a great guy CONGRATULATIONS!

YOU! are easily susceptible to propaganda, and can have your opinion formed for you by the media!

Make no mistake, Jagr is a twit

He and another of his talented contemporaries Alexander Mogilny were two peas in a pod, they cared for nothing but themselves

Temuu Sellane is the great guy who gave to the game and made the NHL a better place during that era. All Jagr did was take, take, take.

Don't believe me?

Go take it up with Rick Tochett

  1. This bs lie again. First of all when Tocchet was a Penguin, Jagr was a rookie and sophomore who was 18 and 19. Second, he wouldn't have been making that much due to the NHL rule of limiting player salaries their first 3 years in the league. By the time Jagr got his first big contract, Tocchet was long gone.

Second, Tocchet never punched Jagr out, he just got in his face because he was showing too much emotion and frustration after he had a bad game and was not getting enough icetime, and so Tocchet was actually trying to teach him the right hockey etiquette. If Jagr was such a bad guy, why did guys like Coffey, Francis and Trottier take him under their wing?

You should feel embarrassed for this shit article.

  2. Also, if you want people to take you seriously, proofread your work because the amount of mistakes and overuse of question marks and exclamation points hurt the brain.
